What I’ve realized this week

9 Aug

*I don’t like how the price of Dunkin Donuts coffee is increasing. At first, I thought I was going crazy because the iced coffee seemed to more expensive here than in Charlotte. But then I did a little research and turns out the price of their iced coffee and breakfast sandwiches at certain locations has gone up and may still go up. And of course, I think Dunkin has rockin iced coffee but not really a fan of their hot coffee. And vice versa for Starbucks.

*I have an unusual obsession with Mob Week

Mind you, they play movies that I’ve seen a hundred times. However, something about that it’s on for hours on end really excites me. I didn’t want Mob Week to end but of course, all good things must come to an end. Perhaps they should create a mob station? I would totally subscribe!

*I miss Lost. A lot.

‘Nuff said.

*As much as I complain about how hot is it outside and how I can’t wait for winter to be here, I’m going to miss salads come fall and winter. I’ve been chomping down on them a lot lately and eating a salad in the fall or winter just doesn’t do it for me.

*Bonding with mom isn’t so bad. My mom and I are close but not like Gilmore Girls close. I don’t tell her my secrets, indulge her with information about who I’m dating and admit, I can be pretty secretive with her. She is unemployed at the moment and wanted to go shopping to get out of the house and do something with someone instead of sitting at home alone. We  went shopping, had coffee and it was nice to hang out. I think I can definitely do it in small increments like three or four hours. Otherwise, we will likely kill each other.

*Once again, I need to cut myself off from all things Groupon. South Florida not only has one or two Groupon options, they have three! I get the emails for Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach daily and while that’s nice for saving money and trying out new businesses, I need to stop buying. I bought this Groupon awhile back when I lived in Charlotte for my parents to use and my dad insisted on my mom and I going for lunch the other day.

I don’t know how I have the ability to pick out places that are dead but we were the only table in there

It was a bit creepy but way better than being surrounded by noisy people. Our server told us that it picks up at nighttime and I can see why. Hello drink specials! And I noticed that they are all day drink specials so I guess if I have nothing to do and feel like a good day drinking session is in order, I know where to go.

Not only are the lunch items cheap, you get a salad with any lunch item

I got the chicken franchese and the chicken took up half of the plate

That’s what I’m talking about! More bang for my buck!

To top it off,  you get dessert with any lunch entrée!

It’s been too long since I’ve had a decent cannoli. The ones I had in Charlotte were pretty crappy but this here was the real deal.

*I love to spoil my dog

Lincoln isn’t having a dog party anytime soon since A) that’s ridiculous and B) momma has student loans to pay before throwing her non existent money towards a dog party. But that doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy a fun treat right? I got him a martini doggie treat and he scarfed it down, like momma like dog.

*I love riding my bike again! I usually scoff when I hear people say that once they find something they truly enjoy, it doesn’t feel like exercise anymore but I kind of know what they mean. I love going out there without a plan and seeing where I’m going to end up. I felt ambitious on Sunday and went for a four mile ride in the afternoon. I felt like I could have kept going but I underestimated how much water I would need. I rested for a bit then went out again that night for another four miles.

And that’s it…..for now at least. I’ve realized a whole lot more but I am just about dead to the world with a headache from hell. My sister has been in town so we have been going around non stop. She is getting married in October and lives three hours away so when she comes to town, she wants to get as much done as possible. Plus, on a happier financial note, I am going to work tomorrow! My friend is a recruiter and hooked me up with a week and a half long gig doing reception work. The girl is going on vacation next week and is going to train me the next three days and then I will be on my own next week. Get out of the house and get some extra cash? Sign me up!

What have you realized lately?

Tell me something fun going on with you! I am so behind with reading blogs, checking Facebook, etc.!

PS, I miss you.

20 Jun

Sunday was the day that wouldn’t end. Maybe because I woke up at 6am and didn’t go to bed until 1am that night or the fact that we are approaching June 21st.

I don’t know why I woke up so early. I was tired the night before so I thought I was going to sleep in late on Sunday. I was up until 1 or 2 the night before but not due to anything crazy

(source)

Well not too crazy. Just something Samantha Who? I completely forgot about this show but used to watch it religiously when it was on. There *poof* one day it was canceled like a lot of the witty shows out there. Ok, maybe not as witty as Arrested Development (RIP I miss you) but I always got a kick out of it and loved the cast. After watching it for a few hours (on a Saturday night because that is how I roll), I realized how much I miss it. It’s great to be able to watch all the episodes on Netflix.

I went to Starbucks for three hours in the morning to catch up on emails, blogs, internship, etc. It was weird for a Sunday morning because of Father’s Day. when I first walked in, I was amazed at how serene it was but then hoards of family with misbehaved children would come in then again, it would empty out. Then this one obnoxious family came in to meet another family. The mother was looking around in amazing and shouting “WOW, IT’S SO QUIET IN HEEEERRRRREEEE!” I wanted to claw her eyes out because of her volume and because of the irony. Homegirl would not shut up and I pondered the thought of going to say something. But then I didn’t want to be the one who ruined Father’s Day for their family, because I am nice like that.

I came home, took Lincoln for a mile walk then went to the gym.  I was hoping the gym would be dead but it was like a normal Sunday on crack. I really wasn’t in the mood to do anything so I did 13 minutes on the Precor AMT, 17 minutes on the bike then did upper body:

*Shoulder Press (12.5 lbs 13 reps x 3 sets)

*Reverse Fly (12.5 lbs 13 reps x 2 sets)

*Row (12.5 lbs 13 reps x 3 sets)

*Front deltoid lift (12.5 lbs 13 reps x 3 sets)

*Fly (20 lbs 13 reps x 2 sets)

*Chest Press Fly (20 lbs 13 reps x 2 sets)

*Compound Row (80 lbs 13 reps x 3 sets)

*Lateral Pulldown (65 lbs 13 reps x 3 sets)

By the time I got home I was so hungry but didn’t know what I was in the mood for. I’ve been craving noodles lately so I made spaghetti with spray butter, garlic, red pepper flakes and grated parmesan.

How is it that something so simple can taste so good? I measured out my spaghetti portion and this is a single portion. I could have had two more bowls and been happy.

And more packing, I won’t even spare you all the details. I’m going to Atlanta on Wednesday or Thursday for a night sans Lincoln . I’m meeting my parents to give them a bunch of my stuff to take to Florida. Other than that, I’m giving away everything or taking a few boxes and packing up my car once my lease is up on the 30th (less than two weeks left in this place—eeks!) I hate giving everything away but at least I can write it off on my taxes. Also, I wish I had my SUV still so I had more room because a Corolla just ain’t cutting it.

I stopped by Harris Teeter for some produce since I didn’t get a chance to go to the farmers market. They had buy one, get two free blueberries so I stocked up. I figure what I don’t use in the next few days I can freeze (right? I hope so)

Then I started dinner. I chopped up a green pepper and half an onion, added drained black beans, garlic and red pepper flakes then warmed up on the stovetop

One thing I forgot? Salsa. Usually a key component in tacos but thanks to my friend Texas Pete, I had the heat on hand.

With some fresh dessert afterwards

I completely forgot to announce the winner of my giveaway!

Sophia from Burp and  Slurp—congratulations! Please email me your address—simplyshaka@gmail.com

What show do you wish was still on? For me, it’s definitely Samantha Who?, Arrested Development and  Lost (at least we got some closure with that one)

Whole Foods Love

6 Apr

Hi everyone—hope all is well! It was 90 frickin degrees out today and not too bad of humidity. If only I didn’t have this little thing called work getting in my way. Le sigh…….

So as y’all know, I’m going to DC on Thursday. And what does DC have that Charlotte doesn’t? Ok well besides the obvious answers:

I’m so excited for this and starting a list of what I need to get there, happy 🙂

I got around to trying the new Yoplait Greek Yogurt

I topped with even more strawberries, coconut granola and unsweeted coconut.

Verdict? I loved it. I liked the consistency of it and it wasn’t too sweet or runny like I had been expecting. And this had 130 calories and 12 gr of protein so that is a definite plus. My heart will always belong to Chobani but I would definitely buy this again.

Starbucks, you complete me.

I was pretty busy today since a lot of my deals are going on hold this week (of course when I go on vacation the work stops) which was nice. I hate it when it is super slow because I just want to do nothing and fall asleep. I caught a little break and one of my co-workers and I went on a 20 minute walk and covered a little over a mile.

Lunch was boring since I’m trying to clear out the fridge. Roast beef sandwich on Trader Joe’s Whole Grain Bread with dijon, one slice of cheese and baby spinach

Nothing too exciting but it was great.

Random factoid about me….when I try to flirt I fail. Yet when I act like a bitch and standoffish, they come a’flockin.

Location: Work elevator.

Parties Involved: Scott Stapp look alike and I

Time: Noon

Scott Stapp look alike: “Can you believe this weather?”

Me: “Yeah, it’s supposed to be hot”

And I may have done a mini shimmy.  Yeah, I am being serious. Oh God, I looked like a dork! But a dork who flashed her left hand to show there’s no ring so yeah!!!

I wanted to make tacos for dinner and stopped by Trader Joe’s and they were out of both tomatoes and avocadoes…..I’m being serious. I think it was guacamole Armageddon or something.

I came home to this lovely vision

“Hi, pollen. My name’s Tiffany, nice to meet you. What? You want to be friends? No? Ok I thought you did because you’re making sweet love to my car”

WTF is up with all the pollen?? I’ve never seen this much before and can’t breathe today, ridiculous. I would also like to know where spring has gone because her greedy step-sister, summer has come in to steal the spotlight.

I picked up a beautiful orange pepper at Trader Joe’s….it kinda looks like a pumpkin!

I made chicken tacos with chopped jalapenos, onions, shredded cheese, chopped pepper, green onions and salsa. Just an fyi….I make tacos a lot when it gets warm out. I love how colorful you can make it!

I was achy after dinner and needed some goof stretching. I turned off the tv and lights, opened the blinds and cleared out my coffee table. I got about 20 minutes of good stretching and yoga time in until someone decided to join me.

If this dog isn’t spoiled, I don’t know who is.

Damn you potatoes

30 Mar

Hello all-Happy Tuesday! Another gorgeous spring day in Charlotte, if it could only stay this way forever!

I started my day with an Iced Coffee Green Monster

I got to work and automatically went to the Bucks. I yet again, got a Venti Iced Coffee with soymilk and three splenda’s. I can clearly see this being an addiction. Dunkin Donuts has my favorite iced coffee —Coconut Iced Coffee but the two locations within walking distance of work are closed-boo!

Don’t mind my produce for the day in the shot, it gives it some color!

I had half a container of Chobani Strawberry Greek yogurt with sliced peaches and Fiber One Cereal .This stuff is so good and it has 14 gr of fiber per half cup and only 60 calories!

I don’t think I could eat it with milk alone but add some fruit and yogurt and I would be set!!

Speaking of getting your fiber on, click here to win a bottle of Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate!

OR

If you would like to win some free Yoplait Greek Yogurt Coupons and a $20 Stop and Shop Gift Card, click here

I had a Big Salad….it’s a salad only bigger.

With Baby spinach, black beans, tomato, cucumbers, shredded cheese and Chick Fil A Fat Free Honey Mustard

All of this for under 300 calories—yumm yummy yumm

I took a 25 minute walk so I could get outside and enjoy the sun

I came back and sipped on some hot chocolate since it was freezing at work

By 3P I needed my second lunch which was baked tofu and broccoli slaw marinated in soy. I wasn’t too keen on this the other night because it didn’t fill me up and I sprinkled a tad too much sriracha on it. Paired the salad a few hours before it held me over.

http://www.ugo.com/the-goods/lost-toys-jacob

For dinner, I had a half a pork chop and roasted potatoes

Why such a small dinner you ask?

 Because of these—JAY’S POTATO CHIPS!!!!!

Jay’s takes me back to my childhood in Indiana. I didn’t even know they made them still but my sister sent me an Easter care package (even though I will be seeing her this wknd!) I made the mistake of opening the bag and then I couldn’t stop. Damn you Jay’s and damn you potatoes.

 Other goodies include:

Old Navy Tops

Tommy Hilger pajama pants

Gossip magazines

Mucho chocolate–including Fannie May Trinidad’s and Pixie’s 🙂 And Coconut M&M’s which I have heard about but never seen before!

*Note, I will NOT be giving this stuff away!

A Raw Indulgence Revolution Bar (again something I’ve never seen) anyone know anything about these??

Thanks sis!!

Does anyone want to see a Levi Johnston reality show? Yeah, me either. Dude, you seem like a tool. A hot tool but tool nonetheless

I cannot wait to get my Lost on tonight!! Am I a dork for wanting these figurines??

Actually, please don’t answer that!

Whole Lotta Catching Up To do!

28 Mar

Hi all-I have been totally MIA for the past few days due to A) it being gorgeous outside and B) too much to do so this is the catch up posts of all catch up posts. But I do have lots of pictures of food so redeeming myself there!

Starting off with Friday, I had the greenest green monster I have ever had!

I got to work and was covering my desk + another person’s so needed a Starbucks stat……and I went venti this time which I never really do anymore.

Since I am a nice co-worker (and don’t want my butt to get any bigger) I brought in Dove chocolates and set them in the break room

I went back into the break room five minutes later to make my breakfast and they were gone. The people live their Dove!

I made a bowl of Chobani blueberry greek yogurt, sliced peaches, unsweeted coconut and flax—it was delicious!

The morning went smoothly without too many issues

Lunch was Annie’s Shells and Cheese with broccoli florets

And then the craziness started and lasted all afternoon. I did pack along a salad to have along with the shells but didn’t have a minute to get over to the break room to prep it. Nothing too horrible but just a lot going on and was happy when 5 o’clock hit!

I was riding along on the bus home and you could hear my stomach growling and the salad was just sitting next to me so I broke it out. I want to apologize to other bus riders who had to smell my salad with tuna salad and vinegar. But there were only four other people on the bus and I was starving!!!

I took Lincoln for a long walk and by the time we got back, I was mentally wiped clean. I couldn’t think after the craziness that occured at work and wanted something easy for dinner so I fried up some frozen pierogies and grilled mushrooms and onions on the side.

Oh pierogies, I will never quit you

I settled down and finally got a chance to watch this past wk’s episode of Lost which was all about Richard.

I soon had someone watching me

What an episode!! I may have to watch it again today because it answered so many questions.

Lincoln started inching himself towards me so he could beg for food

Ha, he looks drunk here

I was in bed by 1030 on Friday night because I am lame but I did get a nice eight and a half hours of sleep which is unheard of for me!

I tried out my Sticky Bun Coffee I got on sale at Bi-Lo on Saturday morning

And we all know about BFD but what about DFB? I feasted on mashed potatoes with avocado and greek yogurt for breakfast

I was tempted to add some garlic, salsa and lime juice to make guacamole potatoes because it just sounds magical.

Lincoln was due for a check up and we spent a half hour at the vet getting his shots so he can be a healthy boy!

I came home to a nice surprise—my Crazy Richard’s peanut butter I won from

I had to break into this right away because…..well….no specific reason other than I just wanted to!

I made a Morningstar Chicken Pattie with Frank’s Red Hot topped with cheese on a Thomas Whole Wheat Bagel Thin and tomato with a sliced banana topped with Crazy Richard’s Creamy Peanut Butter.

The verdict? AMAZING! It was super creamy which I am a total fan of and not too thick (I am just starting to like peanut butter again because it’s thickness turned me off). I will definitely start using this kind and can’t wait to try the chunky)

Lincoln wasn’t feeling so hot due to his shots so he sat with me while I caught up on some reading

Soon after, I decided to take on the mall since JCP was having a great sale. I don’t like going to the mall because it just seems like madness each time I go and too many people. If I do ever go, it’s right when it opens in the morning and I go in and get out stat. I got two tops at JCP then went to Steinmart and got two more tops(those are for work though so nothing too saucy).

WVU was playing at 7 so I got on my gear and headed to a bar a few blocks away from my place to watch. It was $2 Corona’s and yeah, pretty much stayed with those all night. I was alone so just sat and the bar and needed nourishment. Confession…..I absolutely love bar food. I know I shouldn’t but I do and could eat it every day if I could.

I got a cheeseburger with french fried potato chips

So I know it doesn’t look like much but this was one of the BEST cheeseburgers I’ve ever had. I can’t describe why, it was just amazing. I stayed there the rest of the night, made new friends and watched WVU beat Kentucky to move onto the Final Four!!!

What has two thumbs and a sister who lives in Indianapolis? THIS GIRL!

Pending I can get Friday or Monday off of work, I will be making a beautiful nine hour drive to Indianapolis next wknd. I really don’t want to drive but refuse to pay $500+ for a plane ticket. I don’t have tickets but think it would be fun to hang there with all the basketball madness going on. Plus my sister went to Butler so a little bit of a rivalry there which makes it even more fun!

Anyways, after too many Corona’s I made it home and once again, famished. I made nachos, which is just fabulous drunk food. But I wasn’t too drunk that I couldn’t take a picture 🙂 They had Morningstar veggie crumbles, cheese, avocado, jalapenos with greek yogurt and salsa on the side.

And I devoured every last bit!

This morning I was looking forward to a big breakfest….well, a super huge hungover big breakfast: scrambles eggs with mushrooms, cheese and avocado and a Thomas Whole Wheat Bagel Thin with TJ’s Superfruit Spread

Nom Nom

It’s supposed to be absolutely miserable out today which I am excited about because

*I’m hungover and don’t want to move

*Have blogs to catch up

*Need to cook lunch meals for this wk

*Have Netflix movies to catch up on:

40 Days and 40 Nights

16 Feb

Hehe. Ok, so I am totally not a churchie but I do pray every night and try to abide by Lent rules each year by giving up something. I was contemplating what to give up this year.

Speaking of which, does anyone remember the movie 40 Days and 40 Nights with Josh Hartnett(rawr!)? I still think that feather scene is hot! Funny story, I remember going with a boyfriend in college (this dates me) to go see this movie. Anyways, he was kinda dorky and we were dating for three months or so and he would not make a move on me and he dropped me off at my sorority house at the end of the date and I kinda went off on him and then he finally told me he was shy and definitely into me. Just funny with the premise and the movie and all. Where was my patience gone?

*Alcohol? I have cut down my drinking to maybe once or twice every two weeks so not too difficult

*Cussing? No F***in way. I try to be a lady, I really do but just can’t help it. I cuss like a truck driver….or a sailor (I wonder which cusses worse?) around those who I am comfortable with and am trying to tone it down (especially since my friends are starting to have babies) but giving it up each day? Nope.

*Candy/Sweets? Again, something I don’t indulge in too often anymore but would love to. And with Valentine’s Day candy being half off (and soon 75% off!!) not gonna happen

*Caffeine? Um, let’s just say I wouldn’t do well in prison.

Which is where I would be if I deprived myself of caffeine. I would get turned in and shanked within 24 hours there so negative. Plus I am a little too sassy for prison and then I would have to tone it down a little and even if I were in prison, I would like to stay true to myself (is this the theme of Shawshank? Never seen it but it sounds like it?) Never did I think I would be blogging about myself in prison lol

*Chicken, Pork and Red Meat—Oh My! Ding Ding Ding. I love me some meat (hehe) but can definitely do without. A weekend or two ago, I went without meat and fared just fine so bring it on Lent! I wish I could give up fish too but that’s a little too hardcore for me which might result in said prison scenario mentioned if I gave up caffeine!

So starting tomorrow, none of my beloved meat. Sigh. I can do it though.

And did anyone see Lost tonight??! I want more! And how big of a bummer would that be working on Lost on location in Hawaii. Then the show ends and you then have to take a job on a tv show or movie in Kansas or something? Sad.

Monday Monday. Oh wait, it’s Tuesday.

16 Feb

Do you ever wake up and know it’s going to be a blah day or something is just not going to be right? I tried to keep a positive attitude today going back to work after a three-day wknd but just couldn’t do it. One of my big deals was resuming closing today and I had that to look forward to dread. I had two cups of coffee but just couldn’t wake up no matter how hard I tried. Plus the girl I backup called in sick so extra work there. Which I normally don’t mind but of course one of the main systems we use was down so that just made things 20x worse.

Breakfast was Oikos Blueberry Greek Yogurt, flax meal and frozen cherries and raspberries

Lunch was leftover Danica’s Kung Pao Chicken I made this wknd

I was psyched because it was time for me to pick up The Lost Symbol at the library–yay!! I have started a few books in the past month that I just couldn’t get into so hopefully this will not fail.

Walking back from the library, I did have a homeless man tell me I was looking fierce today. I heart polite homeless!

Huge pet peeve of mine: I was talking to a co-worker who I exchange pleasantries and sometimes conversate with. She began talking to me saying “Dave, Meg and I went to the mountains this wknd”. Um, who are Dave and Meg? I cannot stand when people just throw people’s name out there (such as their husband and kid) thinking I will know who they are. Then they look at me crazy when I ask who said people are. Argh.

Coming home on the bus, it didn’t smell like fried chicken or fried rice. For some reason, my bus always seems to smell like a food court. Speaking of which, I could totally go for a Mrs. Fields cookie right now.

I came home and Lincoln and I went for a long walk. I like going on these right after work because A) he has been inside all day and I feel guilty about that and B) there are always little dogs outside who he can go socialize with! it was chilly out but I put his turtleneck on him and bundled up myself and we were off for a goof 1.2 hour!

Dinner was the other half of my meatball sub and a big salad with tomato, broccoli slaw, snap peas, onion and turkey pepperoni.

Turkey pepperoni in my salad and meatball sub? Lent begins tomorrow and I am contemplating going veggie for 40 days and 40 nights. Not sure but will decide by end of night!

One thing I will not be giving up—sweets. Speaking of which-Is McDonalds going to have Shamrock Shakes this year? I always forget each year about them until right after St. Patricks Day

I have a fun night of bubble bath, manicure and Lost to get to!

Whole Lotta Love

14 Feb

Click here for Billboard’s 50 Sexiest Songs of All Time. I used to loooooove #4 “Too Close” by Next. I definitely wouldn’t have picked the song they did for #1 though (I won’t spoil it)

For my Losties out there….

I am not too big on Valentine’s Day due to horrible experiences in the past. And I am not talking about being alone experiences because I have been alone more so than in relationships. I am talking about Valentine’s Day’s past that include one telling me he was still in love with his ex who had three abortions of babies that may or may not have been his (perfect timing on his part to tell me this over Valetine’s Day dinner), one who forgot completely about Valentine’s Day and went out with his friends, one whose ex girlfriend came into town and diverted him from coming over to my place and such (Unfortunately the list goes on).

But I do love my family, friends, dog and those who make me happy in life (including myself which is why I get myself Valentine’s Day gifts) and do appreciate all of them and are thankful they are in my life. So if you do have someone, be happy that you don’t have to deal with the rancid dating pool out there-it’s pretty grim!

And am I the only one who wants to see Valentine’s Day?? I know it looks like a knock off of Love Actually (one of my favorite movies….and a great soundtrack!) with the all star cast(although I could do without Taylor Swift) and tangled plots but I think it looks cute. But then again, I love rom com’s.

Oh! And if anyone is planning on making the love, they had Trojan coupons in the paper this past wknd! I am all for being economical and saving money where I can but I don’t know about using coupons for condoms (hehe I like how that sounds). With my luck, I would go to register, have 14 people behind me when all I am purchasing is Swedish fish and Trojans and something would be wrong with the coupon. I look through the paper every Sunday and found it amusing there are now coupons for condoms (had to say it one more time)!

Needless to say-Happy Valentine’s Day all!

Wake up little sushi

10 Feb

I started my day off again with a Spinach Coffee Smoothie (Soy Milk, Coffee, Spinach, Chocolate Whey) but added alfalfa sprouts this time from the suggestion of a friend.

He is not a good friend because it tasted to alfalfa-ey (don’t think that’s a word but I’m making it into one) and was nastier than a two dolla hooker. With the spinach at least it doesn’t have a strong taste but the alfalfa was too much for me.

I made a breakfast sandwich with Thomas Whole Wheat Bagel Thin, Quick Eggs with parsley mixed in and laughing cow garlic and herb wedge

I do miss Starbucks Red Holiday cups but am kinda diggin the heart cups they have in lieu of Valentines Day.

And I have decided that since no man will be buying me anything( although Lincoln would if he was, ya know, human) I will be buying myself a cookie cake. I will probably only eat half of it but that’s what I want for Valentine’s Day ?

I met up with a friend for lunch and we went to Fiji Sushi Bar & Lounge for all you can eat sushi! The deal is $10 which is not bad at all. We were a little confused at first b.c we didn’t see a sushi bar with sushi readily available on it. Soon we saw servers coming around with trays o sushi and knew I was in heaven!

First round

Second round

Third (and biggest round)

I was so happy to have some good sushi for a reasonable price. And  be able to enjoy a nice lunch out as opposed to eating at my desk. No one on my team ever goes to lunch so when I have a friend who wants to go out for lunch, I get super excited! And taking an hour off from work is such a great way to break up the day

I also found this adorable shower curtain online and would totally buy it if I didn’t have a garden tub with glass door

I went to the library to wake up after Sushi Fest 2010 and got this book

I can’t wait to look through and get some new recipes!

I saw this and chuckled

I went for coffee after and got a refill of my Starbucks. There are so many people in there mid day, I am curious as to what they do for a living? But then again, they could be thinking that about me! LOL

I wasn’t ravished come dinner time so made a mini portion of quesadillas (filled with chicken, kidney beans, onion, cheese and jalapeno) with sour cream and salsa mixed together

On the side, I tried Kettle Brand Jalapeno PotatoChips, which is a new product of theirs

I think they forgot to put the flavoring on them 😦 I even poured myself a big glass of water to go with it and they were disappointing. I think bbq flavor may have more kick which sucks because I love hot stuff like jalapenos. this was my first bad experience with that brand and that made me sad.

I was kinda meh about it and zoned during some of it. I am going to watch it online either tonight or tomorrow night and see if I feel differently.

Ay brotha, I miss Desmond!

Bring him back!!!!

My dog is not a morning dog

Woke up at 620A and caught the 655A bus—-go me! But it was not meant to be……10 minutes from work some idiot crashed and took down two poles (I can say idiot because he is alive and ok) so the cops made everyone detour. I got to see parts of Charlotte I’ve never seen though so that was a plus. To get through the detour, I just played on my BlackBerry and updated my datebook. How cute is my datebook? It says “Let the sun shine on me and make me feel special….” And it is just too cute! And it has red and white polka dots on the inside. It makes me happy every time I see it 🙂

But then a 40 min bus ride ended up taking an hour and a half so me=not a happy camper.

A few interesting things though

*Some guy who I have never seen at my bus stop offered for me to stand under his tiny umbrella-ella-ella-ella. Sorry random, slightly creepy man I have never seen or spoken to, I am alright. And I am super mad because I couldn’t find my mini Coach umbrella. It was so cute-turquoise with  signature C’s on it and I got it on sale at the Coach outlet! But now I just remembered that I left it on the bus last wk and am highly sure I am not getting that baby back. RIP…..

*There is a new cutie on the bus. I am sure he is not jail bait but not so sure he can buy liquor legally in the US. And he looks like a slightly overweight Josh Hartnett (in his clean days, not went he went dirty like Ethan Hawke).

Hello lover

He gets off at the community college stop each day maybe I can offer some “tutoring” services hehe

*We have another celebrity lookalike on the bus  (but not a good one!) This dude looks like David Gest (liza’s ex)

I know, I just lost my appetite too. He is usually quiet and reserved but after our slight detour today, he was getting really ancy and couldn’t stop tapping his foot. He rang the bell to get off (about eight miles from work….in the rain) so I am not sure what happened to him.

Breakfast was day two of operation-get-off-the-greek yogurt.

Blueberries and oatmeal with some blueberry flavored flax

Now I shall only answer to Blueberry Muffin since I was in blueberry heaven

Lunch was sloppy joes

Snacks were a banana and orange . I am not sure if you can tell by this angle but they looked like they were spooning on my desk 🙂

Some random thoughts:

I wonder why on Microsoft Officer communicator there is an emotion for a martini? No clue but I love it!!

I don’t like looking on Facebook to see that men who may have done a body shot off of me in college now have babies (especially daughters) this just irks me
Dinner was inspired from Tina’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza

I made split chicken breasts this weekend marinated in Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce and used that for the chicken (love the timesaver there!) and took Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Pizza Dough (1/2 of the entire portion), spread Naturally Fresh  Lite Peppercorn dressing on top, topped with chicken, onion (I didn’t have green but threw some yellow onion in my food processor along with jalapenos for a little extra spice) and mozzarella cheese and let bake for about 13 mins. I would make this again, it’s a nice break from regular pizza.

I am so excited for Lost tonight!!!! I cannot wait to see what happens however it is bittersweet since it is the final season (which I secretly hope they are lying about!)  I love this photo clearly taking after the Last Supper with Locke in Jesus’ seat.

And this would be me being a dork with my Lost shirt-I’m so stoked (and need a tan, I look like an extra on True Blood!)

Anyone else excited? Do Not Disturb is going on my BBM 🙂
