Chicken Head

18 Aug

Thanks all for your warm wishes for Lincoln (ok ok and props onmy zebra print dress!), he is doing a lot better but that situation is just frustrating. It did not feel good to go back to work today. I was a tad hung over, didn’t have time to prepare my coffee and the bus was 20 minutes late which brought me into work just as our meeting was starting. I hate when we do early morning meetings and I don’t have time to start my computer or have my coffee. I was a brat and pretty much sat there with a scowl on my face the entire time b/c that’s how I stick it to the man. However I got an email when I got back to my desk saying there was free Starbucks coffee a few rows down from me. So maybe I shouldn’t try to stick it to the man anymore.

Breakfast was good though-simple eggs with ketchup and a side of toast with cranberry preserve

I officially put the candy bowl away today and locked it in an overhead bin at my desk that I need a special key to unlock with.

This has been the bane of my existence the past two weeks.

I got a new read for my flight to Phoenix this wk

But I’ll also be bringing my laptop since I got Dexter Season 4 Disc 1 and 2 today-booyah!

So I decided to pimp myself out today for some Chick Fil A Fat Free Honey Mustard. Anyone who reads this knows I sing the praises of their crack-laced fat-free honey mustard. The fact that is fat-free just makes it even better. I went to Chick Fil A for lunch since I had a free coupon for a drink when you buy a sandwich and I asked if I could possibly get a packet of the FF honey mustard. I went on to tell the cashier how much I love the stuff and how they should sell it in stores. I may have leaned over a little to show some skin in high hopes he would give me more than one packet of the stuff and it worked! I waited for a few seconds and he flashed his smile with six teeth and told me he threw in some extras —–four total—holla!! I guess showing a little cleavage at a Christian backed fast food place doesn’t hurt huh?

I was planning on having the sandwich and my salad for lunch but I wasn’t too hungry so I had the original chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and a nectarine.

Today wasn’t that busy at all, I took a relaxing 20 minute break in the afternoon and just sat outside and looked around. I breathed in the air, looked at the flowers and just was. It was so nice and peaceful. Then I saw Lisa’s post on taking pleasure in the simple things in life and I just smiled.

Some observations from sitting outside

*It should be illegal to be blaring Savage Garden from your radio while you’re cruising. Savage Garden—really?!?!

*Why do men think if they grunt at you, you will talk to them? Baffles me every day

*I love old couples who hold hands, it’s just cute and it makes me smile.

*It smelled like patchouli outside yet there were no hippies in sight. Funky.

I had a BIG salad with the same ingredients as yesterday with my beloved Fat Free Honey Mustard. I thawed some Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Chicken Burgers and cooked them up on the stovetop

Thumbs down on the chicken burgers-they were straight up nasty. If I still had the box, I would return them but I gave the rest to Lincoln and he thoroughly enjoyed! I guess I was all about the chicken today. I don’t have too much fresh produce on hand since I’m going out-of-town so I can’t make anything. I could’ve made a bowl of oats but wasn’t feeling it and was in the between stage of hungry and satisfied.  And that just sucked.

With that, I tried Breyer’s Smooth and Dreamy Chocolate Caramel Brownie Sandwich.

This was a perfect portion for what I was looking for-a light snack that would satisfy my sweet tooth.

And ladies —Happy 19th Amendment Day! Today is the the 90th anniversary of when the 19th amendment passed and gave us the right to vote.

I’ve been meaning to buy those icecream sandwiches! If you like it..then I know I will too..hahaha. anyways, I hate going into work being a b*tchy angry ass but I can’t help it!! Especially if the hours leading up to HELL is HELL as well! ps. I would show skin too if I had boobies.

They are fabulous, I definitely will be getting them again. They also have a strawberry ice cream chocolate covered pop and it rocks as well.

ICE CREAM!!!! Nom nom 🙂 LOL about Savage Garden – hilarious. Although…sometimes I am guilty of blaring whatever is on like a Britney tune (yikes!), as long as it’s not some sappy country song? ;)…

THANK you so much for your comment on my blog…I was feeling down as I read a few posts that are introspective and well-written lately..and mine are just so NOT and childish…but it’s nice that someone was able to smile about it.

P.S I love coming to your blog – for some reason the colors just soothe me…? weird, i know…;)

    • simplyshaka August 19, 2010 at 6:28 pm #

I totally do the Britney thing or other cheesy music. And what do you know, I’m always blaring it at a stop light with a hot guy next to me. Never fails me 🙂

I am so not introspective and happy you are happy stopping by 🙂

Bummer on those chicken patties! They sound fantastic in theory!

I had a job where the candy bowl was sitting next to me… not a good thing. I’d smell that chocolate all day, how on earth was I supposed to resist? It seems like a good idea, but really it is just evil little chocolate wonderful… um… yeah… no candy bowls around me, please. 😛

I was kinda hoping the chick-fil-a cashier would be a looker… but then you said ‘flashed his smile with six teeth’… ugh.

In college, I’d eat at chick-fil-a a lot… I’d get the chicken sandwich with mayo… normally I didn’t like ‘real mayo’… but I did at chick-fil-a… oh and those fries… loved those waffle fries…. *drool*

It would be too easy if the Chick Fil A cashier was hot however his manager looks like a model, he is absolutely gorgeous but I am pretty sure he plays for the other team. Booooooo.

Chocolate bowls are the devil. The kicker is that the HUGE bowl of chocolate is over near another team that is right next to the restroom so anytime I use the restroom, I have to stop and try it. And the manager brought it in and he is a super healthy person (I am talking like sprouts and quinoa 24.7) so I am a bit perplexed by it.

I just started watching Dexter Season 4 on demand and I am hooked! It’s so good!!!

ChickFila isn’t around me. It sucks!

Also those ice cream cookie sandwiches are so addicting. I had a hard time not eating two!

    • simplyshaka August 19, 2010 at 6:32 pm #

Isn’t it great? The show is like crack to me.

Ok so you have no Chick Fil A but I am sure you have In N Out and that makes me jealous!

I adore that you whored yourself out for salad dressing.

Because I’d probably do the same…

  7. zenlizzie August 19, 2010 at 9:29 am #

That chick fila story is too funny. I really like it too, but I never think about it unless I’m actually there. Also, I wish all bad reviews could say “straight up nasty” because that is helpful. 🙂

    • simplyshaka August 19, 2010 at 6:34 pm #

Its sad b/c I will bring my own salad to work with no dressing and just go over to Chick Fil A and get some. I even offered to pay them and they won’t let me. I want to get like 22 packets each time 🙂

  8. Laury @thefitnessdish August 19, 2010 at 10:13 am #

Haha….I know SO many peeps that put ketchup on their eggs…too funny!! My cousin LOADS it on his, and everything else! I never tried it..and now don’t really eat eggs too much, but seems interesting..people see to love it!!!

    • simplyshaka August 19, 2010 at 6:35 pm #

OMG it’s the only way to go. I have to have eggs with my ketchup, it just feels right 🙂

i need to know how that book is. as soon as you’re done. i’m judging it by the title and cover and i already want to read it.

i am SUCH a fan of the ff honey mustard. i ALWAYS ask for it. i keep some in my fridge. i love that they don’t charge you extra like most restaurants do for extra salad dressing. that stuff is sooooooo freaking good! i use it on canned tuna sometimes.

    • simplyshaka August 19, 2010 at 6:37 pm #

I knew you would appreciate the wonderfulness that is Chick Fil A 🙂 I never thought to put it on tuna but I have 5 or 6 cans sitting around so maybe that will be my next experiment. I just feel bad b/c I offer to pay but they won’t take it, what gives? I guess they want me to pay it forward somehow.

  14. Ashleigh August 19, 2010 at 8:12 pm #
